Transportation
Bus services are available for all Head Start children. Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten students are the only children who will be riding these buses. A bus driver and an adult bus aide are assigned to each bus. Each bus is equipped with ZONAR. This is a technologically advanced rider tracking system. It allows us to find a bus and identify its riders while our students are being transported to any location.
You must be able to put your child on the bus in the mornings. For morning pickup, please do not put your child on the bus if he/she is acting out, screaming, crying uncontrollably or physically ill. The bus driver and monitor cannot assume responsibility for your child under these circumstances.
Students, who ride the bus, must follow bus rules and safety guidenlines. This means staying in their seats, talking quietly, and keeping their hands and feet to themselves. Activities that create distractions for the bus driver will not be tolerated. Students who consistently display disruptive behavior on the bus, will be permanently suspended from bus privileges. This includes but is not limited to hitting other children or staff, running, cursing, yelling, spitting, will not stay in seat belt, fighting and crawling on vehicle floors.
if your child will be picked up by a daycare facility, please write the of childcare center on student iformation or change of status form, located in the front office.
